Art All Around

Submission Requirements

All entrants must submit concepts online. Registration ensures that those interested receive all updates, addendums, and other information and materials that will be required to complete the submission. Register when you are ready to upload your entry.

The only way to submit a design is through the computer online. Please do not print out the application and mail it in as this will NOT be considered a submission. Entrants must submit their name and their contact information, including their mailing address, e-mail address, and phone number. If the entrant is a team, the team must submit a primary contact as well as the names of all members. The primary contact is then responsible for informing team members about any prizes awarded or communication from the Maine Center for Creativity. The Maine Center for Creativity will not communicate with any members of the team except for the primary contact.

Entrants may, but are not required to, title their work and provide a paragraph description. Entrants may NOT sign their submission or their description.

Design Requirements for Submission
All entrants will submit four images of their tank design. All entrants will use the same 4 JPG images provided here of selected tanks.

Directions:

  1. Download the four JPG image templates (View A, View B, View C, View D) found HERE.
    • View A is a photograph of tanks 5 and 28.
    • View B is a photograph of tanks 13 and 14.
    • View C is a photograph of tanks 42 and 118.
    • View D is an aerial view of tanks 17, 18, and 20.
NOTE: The positions of these tanks can be seen on the Project Site Aerial Map.

  2. Digitally manipulate the template JPGs with programs such as Photoshop or Illustrator to realistically portray your design solution/entry. Then save the digital images (in JPG format) on your computer to upload to the competition secure server. Or print hard copies of the template JPGs and draw, paint, etc. your design on the photo images of the tanks. When you are finished, scan or photograph your template printouts and upload them (in JPG format) .
    • Entrants must submit one design for each template. Each template should feel related as we are looking for one holistic concept for all the tanks.
    • Images should be formatted to 72 dpi and no smaller than 300 by 225 pixels. File sizes must be less than 2MB per image. Images must be in JPG format.
    • All designs must use only the colors available on project paint color palette.
    • Remember to list the paint code numbers for your submission.
    • Tips: Use the Save For Web command in Photoshop set to JPG at maximum quality to reduce file size and keep your images looking good.
  3. Name your files: viewAdone.jpg, viewBdone.jpg, viewCdone.jpg, and viewDdone.jpg.
  4. Finally, register your contact information and submit your design by uploading your JPGs on our secure site.

Submission Guidelines
By participating in this competition, entrants acknowledge compliance with, and agree to be bound by these rules, including eligibility requirements and the decision of the judges, which decisions will be binding and final upon all competitors. The winner will be required to sign a further agreement with the Maine Center for Creativity, based predominately on the rules stated below, before receiving any monetary award. Failure to sign this agreement will be considered a voluntary withdrawal from the competition.

Rights With Respect to Submissions: Upon submission each design and all intellectual property in the design become the property of the Maine Center for Creativity. Each entrant waives any moral rights in and to the designs, images, and artwork submitted for the competition. All non-winners will be granted a non-exclusive worldwide fully paid up license to use the design.

The constraints of transferring the winning design to the Sprague Energy tanks may call for modifying the design to, for example, fit the space. Maine Center for Creativity will work with the artist to ensure the integrity of the design, but reserves all rights to make sure the designs fit the space and follow all compliance regulations.

By entering this competition, the semi-finalists and the winner consent to the use of their name or photograph, without additional compensation, in any publicity undertaken by the Maine Center for Creativity.

Age Considerations with Minors: Should an entrant be under the age of majority in his or her state, province or country, a parent or guardian must authorize the minor to enter the competition by submitting the entry on the minor's behalf. If a minor is selected as a semi-finalist or winner, the prize will be awarded to the responsible adult and the parent or legal guardian must sign and return all required information.
